Greetings Fellow Business Owners,
Most of you are busy gearing up for the Christmas shopping season and looking forward to a new year. I wanted to touch base with as many of you as possible about an opportunity to get involved in an amazing event. But first, let me back up for a second.
In May of 2004, much to my dismay, I was diagnosed with having HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. It has taken me many years to come to accept the fact that I am living with a virus that one day could take my life. It wasn’t until I moved back home to Oregon three years ago that I had to start taking medicine on a daily basis in order to stay healthy and alive. Thankfully, I have health insurance, since my medicine costs $1,800.00 per month, a high price that most people living with HIV can’t afford.
The reason I am reaching out to you is that I need your support. From June 2-8, 2013, I’m bicycling in AIDS/Lifecycle. It’s a 7-day, 545 mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to make a world of difference in the lives of people living with HIV and AIDS.
In a little over 90 days I have been able to raise over $39,000 towards my goal of raising $75,000 for this event. 2,225 bicyclists and 550 volunteer “roadies” completed their seven-day journey toward Los Angeles as participants in AIDS/LifeCycle 2011, the world’s most successful AIDS fundraiser. Hailing from nearly every state and 11 countries, they have raised a record $12,600,000 for the HIV/AIDS services of the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center and San Francisco AIDS Foundation.
With the end of the year approaching and hopefully many of you still needing tax write offs, I am reaching out to you, my fellow Salem business friends to donate what you can. The best part is that you can spread your donation over 10 months. Just follow the link below to pledge your support!
Please join me in this noble cause. Help me support AIDS/Lifecycle by giving what you can. I’ll keep riding until AIDS and HIV are a thing of the past. And if you think your ass can take 545 miles in the saddle, join our team, “Team of One,” together we can and will make AIDS and HIV a thing of the past!!!
Thank you for taking the time and being a part of my life,
Casey M Lucas
