Families can ring in the New Year at A. C. Gilbert’s Discovery Village on December 31 from 6-9 p.m. The children’s museum is celebrating its 10th year of providing New Year’s Eve Family Fun for area families. The theme for this year’s kid-friendly event is, “10 Years–Music to Our Ears!” The celebration rings in the New Year with musical acts and activities, including the Keizer Elementary marimba band and an act by tapper and saxophone player, Shoehorn. Willamette Valley Music Company will be on hand to help kids invent and make instruments. Stalnaker’s Photo Studio is providing free family portraits for visitors. Plus, there is a scavenger hunt with clues from the past 10 years of family fun. The final countdown to 2013 will feature a lighted ball drop off the Erector Set Tower at 9 p.m. (midnight EST).
